Job Summary:
Responsible for developing new business, underwriting, structuring and closing loans as well as maintaining and servicing existing loan and deposit portfolios. Work with other team members and departments to develop potential prospects, as well as referrals from existing customer base and other outside sources. Represent the bank through active participation in community and civic organizations.
Provide secure, accurate, responsive, and courteous customer service to both internal and external customers at all times. Maintain strict confidentiality of customer and banking relationships.

Essential Job Duties:
- Develop and underwrite loans for new and existing customers while adhering to the bank’s credit underwriting policies and approval processes for assigned loans.
- Monitor existing loan portfolio to ensure proper risk rating and early identification of potential problems.
- Maximize bank profitability through appropriate pricing of new loan originations, fee income and selling of all bank products and services.
- Negotiate terms, structure financing based on risk considerations and present credits for approval to appropriate levels of authority.
Other Job Functions:
- Work and resolve daily overdrafts.
- Monitor and work past due loans and update the bank’s collection system.
- Obtain and review financial information.
- Review loan agreements to ensure they are complete and accurate and that borrowers are compliant.
- Monitor draws on line of credit that are subject to borrowing base agreements.
- Monitor and work exceptions.
- Work closely with other lenders on joint relationships.
- Prepare quarterly Action Plans on all assigned classified loan relationships.
- Support the bank’s strong relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service and superior product knowledge.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance, or equivalent work experience
- 5 years experience in Credit Administration or as a Junior Lender
- Good decision making skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain customer confidentiality
- Knowledge of basic math calculations
- Good computer keyboard skills
- Ability to read and understand regulations, policies and procedures; use grammatically correct and clear oral and written communication
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to work well within team environment presenting a positive customer service attitude
- Must comply with all bank policies and procedures that are job related and/or consistent with business necessity

General Physical Demands and Workplace Conditions:
- Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push or pull or otherwise move objects within the immediate work station.
- Must be able to walk, sit or stand frequently, up to 50% of the time.
- Must be able to tolerate encounters with coworkers and customers under the following conditions: atmospheric pollutants or allergens, including but not limited to fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation; changes in indoor/outdoor temperatures encountered in travel between buildings and branches.
