SUMMARY: Performs and monitors the necessary functions to service and process a commercial account (new and renewal) through completion. Assists producers with service needs and makes changes to existing accounts. Provides direct customer service.

Specific marketing and rating responsibilities are required in this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following but other duties may be assigned.

NEW BUSINESS: Reviews, gathers missing information and completes and/or initiates applications. Markets with carriers and/or brokers and rates online submissions for producers. Sets up client in systems, orders and binds policies, receives policies and verifies accuracy. Documents all correspondence and transactions in agency systems.

RENEWALS: Renewal tasks are set up in systems for follow-up. Reviews current client coverages and recommends changes in coverage. Checks account for “gaps” in coverage and makes recommendations to the producer to help identify any potential problems. Prepares submissions, completes applications and gathers related information such as loss runs. Remarkets, Rates online submissions, and coordinates renewal process including documenting all systems through completion/processing and delivery of renewals to customers.

Communicates with finance department and collects necessary down payments from insured.

Assists clients with making coverage changes. Interprets policy provisions to determine methods of effecting desired changes such as change of beneficiary or type of insurance, or change in method of payment. Orders endorsements and verifies when received from the carrier.

Searches agency records and contacts carriers to obtain information requested by customers, producers or other staff personnel. Request binding and issues ID cards, certificates and evidences as needed.

Has equal responsibility with producer to see that all risks are bound and any exception to this should be reported to the Commercial Lines manager. Mails or gives out specified forms and routes completed forms to various departments as necessary.

Processes and enters all transaction for policies including cancellations, reinstatements, notices of cancellation, endorsements, audits, and policies.

Extensive knowledge of the following is required: GL, EDP, Farm, Inland

Marine, Property, Auto, Professional Liability, Boiler and Machinery, Flood,

Crime, Glass, WC, Package Policies and umbrella.
