Commercial Loan Assistant

Summary: Full-Time Loan Assistant - 40 hours/week


Availability: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm - Springfield, MO (Flexibility required)


Essential Job Functions

  • Demonstrate Legacy Bank and Trust Corporate values in all situations and interactions.
  • Generate new loan documents in our loan documentation software and review any attorney prepared documentation.
  • Review and produce renewal and modifications to existing credits.
  • Assist loan officer in all aspects of lending.
  • Accept payments.
  • Communicate with title companies in the ordering of title searches and insurance.
  • Order appraisals, when necessary, on real estate transactions.
  • Handle insurance and other third parties related to lending transaction.
  • Have a solid understanding of all bank products. (Loan and Deposit)
  • Load new and renewed loans onto our core operating system.
  • All other loan operations and processing duties as assigned.
  • Complete all required training as well as ABA assigned courses.
  • Help coordinate participations and wires for all bought and sold loans.
  • Assist with compliance of all affordable housing and new market tax credit loans.
  • Sit on closing calls and follow development loans through completion and stabilization.

Education and Experience

  • Previous loan assisting experience preferred
  • Previous banking experience preferred

Onsite Position

  • Seeing: Must be able to see well enough to see computer screen and read documents. (75-100% of work time spent on activity)
  • Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers, vendors, and employees. (75-100% of work time spent on activity)
  • Sitting: Must be able to sit for long periods of time. (50-74% of work time spent on activity)
  • Standing/Walking: Must be able to move about office. (25-49% of work time spent on activity)
  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up paper products or materials. (0-25% of work time spent on activity)
  • Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds. (0-24% of work time spent on activity)
  • Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type and use technical equipment. (75-100% of work time spent on activity)
