Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Locksmith who is experienced with door hardware and interested in working with modern access control systems.

This role centers on hands-on field work, including hardware installation, door preparation, and supporting electronic access systems. It is ideal for someone who values precision, understands how doors function as complete systems, and takes pride in high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities: Locksmithing & Door Hardware

• Install and service commercial locksets, cylinders, exit devices, door closers, and related hardware
• Perform rekeying, master keying, and key system maintenance
• Prepare doors and frames for hardware installation (drilling, cutting, alignment adjustments)
• Diagnose and repair issues related to door function, alignment, and hardware performance
• Ensure installations meet life safety, fire code, and ADA requirements

Access Control & Electrified Hardware

• Install and support electric strikes, maglocks, electrified panic hardware, and door position devices
• Assist with installation of access control system components
• Troubleshoot issues involving both mechanical hardware and electronic locking systems
• Coordinate with team members on system startup and final installation checks

Field Operations & Documentation

• Read and interpret door schedules, hardware sets, and basic wiring diagrams
• Document work performed, including hardware changes and system updates
• Maintain organized service records and job notes
• Follow safety guidelines and job site requirements at all times

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as a commercial locksmith or door hardware technician
• Strong understanding of mechanical lock systems and door hardware applications
• Ability to install and service electrified locking hardware
• Comfortable working in field environments across multiple job sites
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and basic electronic issues
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Experience

• Experience with access control systems or low-voltage security work
• Familiarity with commercial construction or retrofit projects
• Knowledge of door hardware manufacturers and hardware standards
• Understanding of basic wiring related to electrified hardware

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
