‌Job Overview‌

As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities, managing key client relationships, and overseeing business development initiatives in the geotechnical engineering industry. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to deliver profitable projects.

Key Responsibilities‌

  • Develop and implement business strategies to expand market share in the geotechnical engineering sector.
  • Identify the potential client opportunities in construction (piling, ground improvement, shoring and dewatering) and heavy machine rental & sales (crane, drilling rig, etc.).
  • Manage bid preparation, proposal development, and contract negotiations for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management and commercial teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities.
  • Oversee budgets, financial planning, and performance metrics for business units.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Organize and promote industry events or trade shows to showcase company expertise and build relationships with client and potential client.

Qualifications & Requirements‌

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or equivalent preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in business development or management within the civil/geotechnical engineering industry.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken);additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project management, and industry-specific regulations.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven track record in securing contracts, managing bids, and delivering profitable projects.
  • Ability to travel for client meetings and site visits as required.
