Commercial Mowing Crew Member – Omaha Metro

Job Summary

U.S. Grounds Maintenance is seeking a Commercial Mowing Crew Member to support daily lawn care and grounds maintenance operations while delivering high-quality service safely, efficiently, and to U.S. Grounds Maintenance’ standards. This is a hands-on position focused on mowing, trimming, edging, and maintaining properties while contributing to a professional and productive jobsite.

This role includes mowing, trimming, and edging—trimming/edging may be your primary duty on many days. Not every crew member mows daily. Mowing opportunities are based on route needs, experience, and performance.

For certain routes (Rising View privatized military housing), some work locations require access to Offutt Air Force Base. Base access may require a government background check and contractor badge.

Responsibilities

• Mow, trim, and edge lawns with attention to detail
• Operate walk-behind, stand-on, and zero-turn mowers (as assigned)
• String trim (weed eat) around buildings, beds, fences, trees, and obstacles
• Edge sidewalks, curbs, and hardscape areas for a clean finished look
• Blow off hard surfaces and leave properties clean and professional
• Perform seasonal cleanups (leaf removal, debris clearing, etc.) as needed
• Maintain and enhance flower beds (weeding, mulching, trimming) as needed
• Operate landscaping tools and equipment safely and responsibly
• Follow route plans, work efficiently, and communicate with your supervisor

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance are required
• Mowing candidates must have experience operating walk-behind, stand-on, and zero-turn mowers
• Commercial lawn care experience is highly preferred
• Experience using trimmers, edgers, blowers, and other landscaping tools is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift, kneel, and stand for extended periods
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to qualify for a contractor badge to access Offutt Air Force Base (preferred / route-dependent)
• Valid driver’s license is preferred (some roles require driving; some do not)
