Position Overview
A Boutique Commercial Real Estate firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to support attorneys in its practice. The ideal candidate will have significant experience coordinating complex commercial real estate transactions and managing closing processes from inception through completion. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage commercial real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, loan transactions, joint ventures, and development projects.
- Assist with multi-state transactions involving office, retail, multi-family, and other commercial properties.
- Support sale/leaseback transactions and ground leases.
- Work closely with title companies and surveyors to review title insurance commitments and surveys.
- Prepare title objection letters, negotiate title insurance coverage, and assist with clearing title exceptions.
- Review and assist in drafting leases, amendments, and related documents.
- Prepare and coordinate closing documents, including conveyance documents and transaction materials.
- Manage the execution, recording, and filing of documents in connection with real estate closings.
- Draft and coordinate tenant estoppel certificates and subordination agreements.
- Assist with forming, registering, maintaining, and dissolving legal entities, and filing of all necessary documents.
- Prepare and file annual reports in states where entities are formed and/or qualified to do business.
- Draft organizational resolutions as well as entity certificates.
- Provide additional administrative and transactional support as requested by attorneys or management.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate law.
- Experience supporting complex commercial real estate transactions.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word (including editing and redlining), Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new legal software and applications.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively with attorneys, clients, and colleagues at all levels.
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality work and exceptional client service.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple deadlines.
Work Environment
- In-office position requiring attendance five days per week.
Flexibility to work overtime when necessary to support transaction closings and client needs
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
