Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Commercial Refrigeration Technician to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial refrigeration systems across various property types. Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, display cases, and refrigeration units.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend lifespan.
- Conduct HVAC design assessments and modify existing systems to optimize performance.
- Use specialized tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for repairs when necessary.
- Diagnose mechanical problems related to plumbing, air conditioning, ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, and other mechanical components.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports of all work performed for accountability and future reference.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards including proper handling of refrigerants and ammonia systems.
- Operate a <PERSON> driver vehicle safely for field service calls across multiple locations.
- Collaborate with property maintenance teams to coordinate repairs or upgrades on refrigeration or HVAC systems as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in commercial refrigeration systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams confidently.
- Familiarity with HVAC design principles and air conditioning systems.
- Hands-on experience with plumbing, appliance repair, boiler operation, welding, and equipment repair.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and HVAC/R (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) standards.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively in troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Field service experience with property maintenance or appliance repair is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance and repairs.
