Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Commercial Refrigeration Technician to join our team and ensure the optimal performance of refrigeration, HVAC, and related mechanical systems across various commercial properties. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial refrigeration units, HVAC systems, and associated equipment. Your expertise will help keep critical refrigeration and climate control systems running smoothly, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance. Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration units including ammonia refrigeration systems and HVAC equipment across multiple sites.
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately and efficiently.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on refrigeration, HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration), plumbing, boilers, and other mechanical systems.
- Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to test electrical components and ensure system integrity.
- Conduct field service visits to client locations for appliance repair, equipment servicing, or emergency repairs.
- Weld or perform mechanical repairs on refrigeration lines or HVAC components as needed.
- Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs of all work performed for compliance and future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician with a focus on commercial refrigeration or HVAC systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge including plumbing, welding, boiler operation, and equipment repair.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans.
- Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems and HVAC/R equipment is highly desirable.
- Experience with property maintenance tasks such as air conditioning servicing and appliance repair.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL or <PERSON> driver certification preferred.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools like ohmmeters; hands-on experience with welding is a plus.
- Knowledge of construction practices related to installing or upgrading mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in the field under minimal supervision.
