Job Overview:
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Roll-Off Driver, where you will be the driving force behind efficient waste and material removal operations. Using your CDL A or B license, you will operate specialized roll-off trucks to pick up, transport, and deliver large containers for commercial and industrial clients. Basic Qualifications:
· 3+ yrs. experience with commercial driver license (CDL), with delivery or roll-off trucks and heavy-duty trucks (front/rear loader, dump truck, flatbeds, tractor-trailer).
· Mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks (front loader, rear loader, dump truck, flatbeds or tractor-trailer).
· Ability to push, pull, lift up-to 75 lbs. safely.
· Knowledge of load securing and safety regulations related to commercial driving.
· Strong communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and in team environment.
· Excellent customer service.
· Cash Handling.
· Pre-employment background check and drug screen testing required (includes marijuana).
· Monday-Friday, occasional Saturdays, are required. Flexibility to work varied schedules to include early mornings and weekends as needed.
· Ability to utilize tarp/tarp levers, winch/hook, cable, and safety straps.
· Ability to tarp load to include climbing on trailer and leveling load, in inclement weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B (Required).
· Medical Certificate (Required) Must complete and pass a DOT physical.
· Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
· Must be 25 yrs. or older (requirement).
· Must complete and pass a driving test administered by Company personnel.
· Physically fit to perform the requirements of the position, e.g., entering/exiting vehicle numerous times a day, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting.
· Ability to work in inclement weather (very hot/very cold temperatures).
· Demonstrated strong work ethic, e.g., reliable, dependable, trustworthy.
· Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations for waste disposal.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
· Attendance – This is an essential business-the expectation is to arrive every day on time and ready to work as scheduled. Absentees and tardies are constantly reviewed, excess of either may lead to termination of employment with company.
· Follow DOT Guidelines and Company Policies to operate roll off trucks equipped with hydraulic systems to load/unload large containers in a safe and professional manner on public highways, roads, commercial and residential neighborhoods and properties.
· Wear proper work shoes and clothing – outer layer must be high visibility in color.
· Complete daily vehicle inspection reports (DVIR), to include maintenance, safety equipment, tires, and fluid checks. Submit at the end of each day to Dispatch Manager.
· Drive heavy-duty trucks (e.g., front loader, rear loader, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers) to transport materials efficiently and safely.
· Load/unload containers manually or with mechanical assistance, ensuring secure placement for transit.
· Complete daily assigned work orders, collect signatures, and COD payments as directed.
· Deliver, place, swap, and remove roll offs per work orders. Completing a minimum of 10 roll offs daily.
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including vehicles and tools.
· Provide courteous and professional service to residents and businesses.
· Report any hazards, mechanical issues, or route obstructions to supervisor.
· Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment to maintain safety standards and resolve any issues promptly.
· Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs when necessary to minimize downtime.
· Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, pickups, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance records.
· Fuel truck utilizing your assigned individual fuel number.
· Communicate effectively with dispatcher(s) and customer(s) to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
· Salvaging and scavenging are prohibited on route and in the yard.
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
