Our dynamic commercial title practice group represents national clients on sophisticated deals across multiple jurisdictions. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced paralegal to join our growing commercial title practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in conducting and reviewing title searches for both commercial and residential properties and supporting attorneys with the resolution of complex title issues involving assemblages, estates, and special proceedings. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional looking to play a key role in commercial real estate matters within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and review title searches for commercial and residential properties
  • Identify and summarize title defects, liens, encumbrances, and related issues
  • Prepare title abstracts, reports, and curative documentation under attorney supervision
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing closing documents and title opinions
  • Support attorneys in handling complex title matters, including estates and special proceedings
  • Coordinate with clients, lenders, surveyors, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Manage deadlines, maintain organized files, and track case progress
  • Assist with preparing billing entries in a timely and accurate manner

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • 3–5+ years of experience as a real estate paralegal, preferably in title and commercial transactions
  • 3-5+ years of title review & analysis experience
  • Proficiency with title search systems and related software
  • Strong organizational, research, and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience assisting with estate-related title issues and probate matters
  • Familiarity with land assemblages and associated title challenges
  • Prior involvement with special proceedings under North Carolina law

Additional Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of real estate law, title insurance, and property rights
  • Strong writing, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze legal documents and compile accurate reports
  • Commitment to client service and maintaining professional standards
