Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical/Domestic Plumbing and Heating Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in domestic and commercial plumbing systems, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical plumbing systems on a variety of domestic and commercial projects, ensuring work is carried out to the highest standard and in line with current regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and repair domestic and commercial plumbing and heating systems
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Work with a range of materials including copper, steel, and plastic pipework
- Carry out pressure testing, commissioning, and system checks
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and building codes
- Liaise with clients, site managers, and other trades
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Supervise apprentices or junior staff as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical and domestic plumbing. (We will consider a newly qualified engineer at the lower end of the pay scale to start).
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of building services and mechanical installations
- Full UK driving licence essential
- Ability to work from technical drawings and plans
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Agreement to having an enhanced DBS check.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Gas Safe registration
- Experience with renewable heating systems
- CSCS card
