Position Overview

Employees in these roles are responsible for performing and supervising commercial electrical installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and construction activities including underground work, rough-in, trim-out, cable pulling, conduit installation, motor controls, and electrical system installations.

Candidates must be capable of designing conduit systems, interpreting and applying NEC code requirements, determining proper wire sizing, and planning electrical installations that meet code, safety, and project specifications.

Leadership positions will oversee field crews, coordinate with project managers and other trades, manage manpower and materials, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to NEC and company standards.

Strong team-building skills is a must with the ability to develop positive working relationships, motivate crews, foster collaboration, and create a productive, safety-focused work environment that drives project success.

This is a hands-on, physically demanding role requiring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Installation & Construction

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial and industrial electrical systems
  • Design and lay out conduit systems in accordance with NEC and project specifications
  • Determine proper conductor and conduit sizing based on electrical loads and code requirements
  • Perform underground conduit installation, trenching, excavation, rough-in, trim-out, and system installations
  • Pull wire and large cable systems
  • Install panel boards, lighting systems, devices, transfer switches, disconnect switches, and related equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and job specifications
  • Bend and install EMT, RMC, and rigid conduit systems
  • Perform motor control wiring and troubleshooting
  • Test electrical systems and circuits using diagnostic equipment
  • Safely operate trenchers, lifts, aerial equipment, and other job-related machinery

Leadership & Project Coordination

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor Electricians, Helpers, Apprentices, and field personnel
  • Coordinate manpower, production schedules, materials, and inventory
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, customers, and other trades
  • Conduct team meetings and communicate project updates and scope changes
  • Monitor productivity and maintain project quality standards
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, development, and performance feedback

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all OSHA, state, federal, and company safety regulations
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with NEC standards
  • Conduct work safely in high-risk environments including energized systems, heights, and confined spaces
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
  • Participate in ongoing safety training and site safety audits

Documentation & Reporting

  • Complete required project reports and documentation
  • Maintain accurate records regarding labor, materials, and project progress
  • Report project issues, corrections, and safety concerns promptly

Required Experience

Electrician

  • 4+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience preferred

Foreman / Superintendent

  • 7+ years of commercial electrical experience
  • Experience leading crews and commercial construction projects preferred
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously strongly preferred

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Ability to design conduit routing and complete electrical layouts
  • Ability to determine conductor sizing, conduit fill, voltage drop, and overcurrent protection requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Experience with:
  • Underground electrical work
  • Rough-in and trim-out
  • Cable pulling
  • Conduit installation and bending
  • Panelboard installation
  • Commercial and industrial systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment
  • Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, lifts, wire pulling equipment, and earth-moving equipment
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated to learn and grow professionally
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail, organization, and productivity in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and project management software
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends
  • Successfully able to pass and complete basic pre-employment testing and screening requirements.
  • Clear criminal history, required to pass federal credentialing services.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work overhead for extended periods
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs regularly
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50–75 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work safely around electrical hazards and active construction environments
  • Ability to distinguish wire colors and maintain visual focus

This role requires working outdoors and in active commercial and industrial construction environments with exposure to:
