We are hiring for Commi 1 role for Dubai location. We are looking for someone who has experience in Continental cuisine or in Butchery and Pantry.
Job Purpose:
The Commis I is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting food items as per the standards of the Kitchen. The role involves supporting senior chefs, ensuring high-quality food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and contributing to smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in line with established recipes and standards.
- Ensure proper portion control, garnishing, and food presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen at all times.
- Follow food hygiene, safety, and sanitation guidelines (HACCP standards).
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned, maintained, and stored properly.
- Work closely with the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef to execute daily operations.
- Assist in receiving and checking quality of supplies and ingredients.
- Handle guest special requests and dietary requirements as directed by senior chefs.
- Maintain a professional appearance, punctuality, and positive teamwork spirit.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as Commis I or minimum 2–3 years in a similar role in a reputed hotel/restaurant.
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
