Job Title: Commis Pastry

Job Summary:
The Commis Pastry assists the Pastry Chef in preparing, baking, and presenting a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods for catering events. The role ensures consistency, quality, and hygiene in all pastry production while supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and baking of cakes, pastries, tarts, breads, and other desserts according to standard recipes and event requirements.
- Support the Pastry Chef in planning and executing dessert menus for catering functions.
- Ensure all pastry items are prepared and presented in line with company quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work area at all times.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and labeling procedures to ensure product freshness and safety.
- Assist in receiving and storing pastry ingredients and supplies.
- Monitor baking equipment and report any maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
- Support the team in plating and assembling dessert displays for buffets, banquets, and events.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in pastry preparation, preferably within catering, hotel, or bakery environments.
- Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, and dessert presentation.
- Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders during catering events.
- Diploma or certification in Bakery & Pastry or Culinary Arts (preferred).
