Vacancy Information

As Senior Commissioning Engineer, you will take technical ownership of on-site commissioning activities for international waste heat recovery and industrial energy projects. From pre-commissioning through to final handover, you are the person on the ground making sure everything is executed safely, correctly and on time. You will coordinate closely with contractors, suppliers, clients and internal project teams across mechanical, piping, structural and instrumentation disciplines. Technical deviations get resolved. Punch lists get managed. Progress gets reported. The standard never drops. This is a role with real field authority. You will be the senior technical presence on site, the point of contact for clients and project stakeholders, and the person who makes sure commissioning activities reflect the quality the project demands.

The position is based in the Netherlands, but you will spend the majority of your time at international project sites. If you do your best work in the field, this is where you want to be.

What do you need

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Installation Engineering or a related technical field
• At least 5 years of experience in construction, commissioning or start-up activities within industrial or energy projects
• Experience in EPC or turnkey projects is a strong advantage
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems, piping, steel structures and industrial installations
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation and control equipment
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs and 3D models
• Experience preparing reports and technical documentation during project execution
• Strong coordination and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders on site
• A sharp focus on safety, quality and getting the job done right
• Fluent English, spoken and written. Dutch is a strong advantage, but not a requirement
• Willingness to work internationally for extended periods and to relocate to the Netherlands
