Description:
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning (Cx) Field Superintendent to provide day-to-day field leadership for commissioning activities on a large-scale, mission-critical project. This role is responsible for overseeing subcontractors and vendors during system startup, functional testing, and turnover, ensuring all building and MEP systems are properly tested, validated, and documented prior to handover.
Responsibilities

Supervise field execution of commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical, controls, and life safety systems.

Conduct system walkdowns to verify readiness for startup, functional testing, and integration.

Coordinate with commissioning agents, QA/QC teams, subcontractors, and vendors.

Monitor execution of pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, and integrated systems testing.

Ensure commissioning activities are performed safely, accurately, and in compliance with design and owner requirements.

Track progress, punchlists, and deficiencies, driving timely resolution in the field.

Provide daily updates, reporting risks, delays, or issues to the Cx Manager and project leadership.

Maintain accurate field documentation (checklists, test forms, redlines, turnover packages).

Support final turnover and closeout activities, ensuring a smooth handoff to operations.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of field experience in commissioning, QA/QC, or construction supervision.

Strong knowledge of mission-critical systems, including: Electrical (switchgear, UPS, generators, ATS). Mechanical (chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, pumps, piping). Controls/automation (BMS, I&C systems). Fire/life safety systems.

Hands-on experience with commissioning procedures, test scripts, and system startup.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, one-lines, and schematics.

Strong field coordination and communication skills.

Proficient with construction/project tools (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Office).
Preferred

Data center, semiconductor, or large industrial project experience.

Certifications such as CxA, CEM, or OSHA 30.

Background in QA/QC or systems integration.
