We are seeking an entry-level Commissions Analyst to fill a newly-created opening on our growing Incentive Compensation team, based in downtown Chicago. Reporting to the Director of Incentive Compensation, this role will support the Sales, Finance, Accounting, and Human Resources organizations by ensuring timely and accurate commission calculations, accruals, and payments. To be successful in this role, organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. Your main priorities will include maintaining our commissions-processing system (via headcount management, system updates and adjustments, etc.), as well as assisting in the monthly close and financial reporting process. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset and thrive in a team-based environment under close direction from management. This role will have considerable organizational visibility, as you will be working with management from the various Sales departments within Echo, as well as responding to day-to-day inquiries from members of the sales force.

Facilitate system updates and monthly headcount management, aiming to streamline and automate processes where possible; engage with outside consultants as needed to continue system development and improvement

Ensure the timely and accurate processing of commission payments across the sales organization as a whole, including processing payroll within our commissions system, calculating any outside commission payments or client rebates, and producing sales accrual reports

Respond to inquiries from the sales floor related to incentive compensation and educate participants on how to navigate our online commissions portal

Perform ad-hoc financial and commission-related analyses for various department management including Finance and Sales

Maintain existing internal reporting, developing ideas for additional reports and improved functionalities where applicable

Assist in fulfilling requests for documentation from auditors, both internal and external

Requirements

BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline

0-2 years of experience in Compensation, Finance, Accounting, HR, Logistics, or related field

Microsoft Office proficiency, with a strong understanding of Excel; knowledge of Tableau, SQL, Anaplan, and/or Incentive Compensation systems (particularly Varicent) a plus

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively relay complex and/or technical information to those with a limited knowledge of compensation-related policies and concepts

Highly motivated with a strong desire to succeed and achieve goals, as well as the willingness and ability to continuously learn new skills and take on added responsibilities

Team player willing to put in extra work when necessary to help the team meet their objectives and deadlines

Compensation
$56,641.00-80,671.00 per year
This role is eligible for a bonus that is based on a combination of personal and business performance.
