Summary:

In this role, you will work directly with ethanol plant Commodity Managers to buy and sell grain and feed products and provide administrative support across multiple facilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Purchase and sell grain and feed products from producers, grain elevators, and vendors under the direction of the Commodity Managers.
  • Communicate daily with customers as required for contracting and scheduling.
  • Work directly with customers to gather all documentation necessary for new account setup, existing account maintenance, and contract administration.
  • Enter new purchase contracts into the grain operational system.
  • Provide documentation, reports, and other information to customers upon request.
  • Assist in maintaining documents in accordance with governing agencies.
  • Gather market intelligence from vendors and other outside sources.
  • Spend time in the scale house weighing and grading trucks coming in and out of the facility.
  • Work with third party freight vendors to schedule and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Maintain and enforce all safety programs and procedures.
  • Perform routine housekeeping duties to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Participate in safety, health, environmental and ongoing training programs.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required, Associates degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience with basic office computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Experience providing customer service to farmers, grain elevator personnel, and truck drivers preferred.
  • Experience weighing and grading trucks is a plus.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable Federal and State regulatory requirements.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Physical demands include but are not limited to: ability to climb ladders, bend, twist and reach, crouching or standing for long periods of time. May also include frequent sitting, computer use and telephone use.
  • Noise level at field location may be quiet to very loud and use of PPE will be required on the plant floor.
