Duties and Responsibilities
- Each allocator is responsible for their assigned produce category in a warehouse/cooler-based role.
- Start each day with an inventory count and an aged-on-hand inventory QC report to be sent to the corresponding DC Management, Commodities and Procurement Teams.
- Locate, inspect and sign-off on product quality in inventory to prepare for staging and shipping.
- Communicate any quality issues or suggestions for product for customers to the DC Management and Commodities Team
- Complete start and end-of-shift reporting of product quality and other reports as required or requested by cross-functional teams.
- Verify aged product inventory vs printed physical counts.
- Investigate and solve inventory variances and issues to ensure product is utilized and not skipped.
- Monitor communication from the commodity department and regularly review production schedules to ensure product availability.
- Communicate with production supervisors, and production scheduler about allocations and changing priorities to ensure delivery deadlines are consistently met and optimal product utilization is realized.
- Map and accurately mark product in coolers; ensure accurate location of product as indicated by the production board or commodity department.
- Communicate with forklift drivers that are pulling products; aid them in finding all allocated product.
- Correctly mark product to indicate sequence of product to be delivered to the production floor.
- Monitor rejections and complete root cause analysis of every rejection for your assigned product category at your corresponding DC.
- Track and monitor customer and grower product trends.
- Other core expectations as defined by the company.
Requirements and Skills
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in a business discipline or a post graduate certificate preferred.
- 2-3 years experience in record management in the produce industry preferred.
- Mathematical reasoning, numerical literacy and problem-solving skills required.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, and Food Safety
- Experience with ERP software FAMOUS® preferred.
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Office Suite software experience required.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail and task-related accuracy, as well as consistent follow-through skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision; provide leadership as needed.
