Communications and Design Coordinator, Boston Corporate Office - Boston, MA
Full-time hybrid position, with three days a week required in our Boston office
General Statement of Duties: The Communications and Design Coordinator supports the execution of Beacon's brand and communications strategy in alignment with overall business goals and brand objectives. This role supports Corporate Communications in its core functions of media relations, internal communications, social media, and design. This position will collaborate with teams across Beacon Corporate and requires a combination of brand and design skills with communications experience to help the Corporate Communications team build its infrastructure and better tell the Beacon story both internally and externally.

Supervision Received: Reports to Communications Manager, with a dotted line to Director, Corporate Communications
Essential Functions of the Position:Social Media:- Create monthly content calendars for Beacon’s Corporate social media channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and X. · Create and modify corporate social media graphics and support real-time content development (photos and video) at events.
- Monitor platforms for opportunities for engagement (mentions, likes, tags, etc.) and flag comments that require response.
- Partner with HR to support the development and management of LinkedIn Career pages.
- Create and manage content on recruitment platforms, including monitoring for and responding to comments and feedback.
- Create quarterly reports using social media monitoring tools to advise on strategy and tactics.
Media Relations:- Manage the company’s media list software to maintain media lists and optimize media trackers.
- Build reports and dashboards for reporting press coverage to leadership and partners.
- Manage press release distribution and support the drafting of media materials when appropriate.
Graphic Design and Brand Support:- Create and maintain user-friendly templates to standardize and streamline collateral and presentations for Beacon Corporate, using Canva and other resources.
- Collaborate with partners in Executive Leadership, Development, and Corporate Service Centers as needed on collateral for events, sponsorship ads, presentations, and other corporate collateral.
- Partner with Graphic and Web Designer to book photography shoots and conduct corporate photography audits to maintain photo folders on shared drive.
- Organize digital assets to support content management and creation efforts for Corporate Communications and the broader organization.
Internal Communications:- Provide support for content development on our intranet site through writing copy, updating calendars, posting content, and serving as a liaison to IT for technical needs.
- Draft internal communications for company-wide distribution and support internal meetings and events when needed.
Overall Support:- Manage Corporate Communications internal work requests by tracking and assigning projects to team members and ensuring tickets are closed.
- Help maintain consistency in brand voice, messaging, and narrative across all communications channels.
- Conduct research on industry trends, media landscape, and competitor communications to inform strategy.
- Provide general project management and administrative support for communications initiatives.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, or related field, plus 3-5 years of experience working in-house or at an agency in communications. Experience with graphic design a plus.
Qualifications, Abilities and Skills:- Strong experience with Canva specifically with brand management, template development, and general design best practices. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) a major plus. · Experience using MuckRack or other media monitoring tools, SOCi or other social media platforms, and any content management tools required.
- Strong writing and editing skills and a basic understanding of Associated Press (AP) style.
- Adaptable design sensibility with the ability to apply creative judgment across various formats and audiences.
- Receptive to constructive feedback from peers and clients, and able to incorporate it effectively.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proven project management abilities, including coordinating multiple tasks at once.
- Consistent ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident communicator who actively contributes to meetings and discussions.
- Applies professional experience and sound judgment to plan, prioritize, and achieve goals.
Physical Capabilities: Manual dexterity for competent use of office equipment.

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 annual salary
Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
