Communications & Administrative Coordinator

Children Mending Hearts empowers underserved youth through arts, education, empathy-based programming, and community engagement. We seek a dynamic, resourceful professional combining strong organizational skills with advanced design and communications expertise.
Position Summary:
The Communications & Administrative Coordinator will support CMH’s operations, communications, and fundraising efforts. This individual will manage core administrative functions and design and produce high-quality visual materials, including pitch decks, fliers, donor presentations, and social media content to communicate CMH’s impact to diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative & Organizational Support

Provide direct support to the Executive Director and leadership team, including scheduling, correspondence, and board support.

Manage project timelines, track deliverables, and support grant and donor reporting.

Coordinate logistics for meetings, events, and special projects.

Maintain organized records, databases, and contact lists for donors, partners, and volunteers.
Design & Communications

Using Canva (and other design tools as needed), create visually compelling fliers, brochures, one-pagers, and event materials.

Develop professional pitch decks and donor presentations that clearly communicate CMH’s mission, programs, and impact.

Support digital communications, including newsletters, social media graphics, and website updates.

Ensure brand consistency and quality across all internal and external communications.

Collaborate with leadership to develop messaging strategies that resonate with funders, partners, and community members.
Social Media & Digital Outreach

Manage CMH’s social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), creating content that highlights programs, events, and donor impact.

Design and schedule posts, track engagement, and adjust strategies to increase reach and visibility.

Support the development of email newsletters and digital campaigns.

Monitor trends and recommend strategies to enhance online presence.
Qualifications:

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Advanced proficiency in Canva; experience with PowerPoint for pitch deck creation.

Strong design sensibility and ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging visuals.

Excellent project management, multitasking, and organizational skills.

Commitment to CMH’s mission of empathy, equity, and youth empowerment.

Experience in communications, design, or administrative coordination (nonprofit or mission-driven setting preferred).
Preferred Skills:

Experience with fundraising or donor communications.

Familiarity with CRM tools or donor databases.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
