Position Summary
KCSC is seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven Communications and Marketing Coordinator to elevate the organization’s visibility, strengthen community engagement, and support fundraising and outreach efforts. Under the supervision of the Director of Development and Communications, this role will lead day-to-day content creation and digital communications execution while supporting broader communications and marketing strategies. The Coordinator will collaborate with program staff to develop compelling content that engages donors, supporters, and community members. - Strong collaboration with program staff to surface stories and impact
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and implementation of a communications and marketing plan aligned with KCSC’s mission, programs, and strategic goals
- Manage and continuously update KCSC’s website, social media platforms, and Google Business Profiles to ensure timely, engaging, and mission-aligned content
- Coordinate KCSC’s monthly radio show, including planning topics, coordinating guest speakers, updating scripts, and preparing promotional materials
- Create and distribute newsletters, flyers, brochures, annual reports, press releases, and other communications materials
- Collaborate with program staff to gather stories, testimonials, photos, and other content for external communications
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communications and marketing efforts and recommend improvements based on results
- Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, outreach efforts, and special events
- Help ensure consistent messaging, branding, and visual identity across all communications channels
- Stay current on communications, marketing, and digital engagement trends and recommend new strategies and tools
Education and Experience- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, English, journalism, nonprofit management, or a related field and at least one year of relevant professional experience, OR
- Associate’s degree in a related field and at least two years of relevant professional experience
- Fluency in English is required
- Bilingual verbal and written ability in English and Korean is strongly preferred; knowledge of written Chinese is a plus
- Experience with website content management systems such as WordPress and design tools such as Elementor is highly desirable
- Experience with graphic design, video editing, or digital content creation tools (e.g., Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud) is highly desirable
- Familiarity with communications and fundraising platforms such as Constant Contact and DonorPerfect is desirable
- Knowledge of website, email, and social media analytics is desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms) is required
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear and compelling content for diverse audiences
- Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, and digital communications tools
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently while navigating cross- functional collaboration
- Creative thinking and sound problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Interest in philanthropy, nonprofit communications, and fundraising
- Experience with grant writing or fundraising communications is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and communicate with cultural sensitivity
Position Structure
This is a full-time professional position offering a competitive salary and benefits. The role is primarily based at KCSC’s headquarters in Annandale, Virginia, with a hybrid schedule and some opportunity for remote work based on job responsibilities and organizational needs.
