Job Title: Communications and Marketing Director

PRIMARY FUNCTION
Oversee and direct church communications, internal and external; responsible for printed publications and digital communication; and manage church marketing and advertising
QUALIFICATIONS
- Above average verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of or ability to learn multiple computer software packages, including but not limited to: Word, Publisher, In-Design, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Shelby Systems
- Knowledge of social media communication
- Knowledge of the printing process and operation of printing machines
- Ability to meet frequent deadlines
- Advanced time management & organizational skills
- Understanding of social platforms, algorithms and engagement best practices
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design state of the art messages for each communication channel to maintain brand and help the church accomplish its goals; channels include, but not limited to:
- Weekly e-news and other church-wide emails
- Website
- Social media
- Hallway monitors
- Outdoor digital marquee
- Videos
- Production of worship bulletins (weekly and seasonal/special occasions) and worship presentation slides
- Production of church newsletter and magazine, including collection and editing of copy, layout, generation of proofs for staff and volunteers, and responsibility for printing and mailing
- Maintain financial records for Communications; receive and deposit funds, generate purchase orders and check requests as needed
- Manage all financial accounts associated with bulk email services, website, print and multi-media resources
- Maintain list of media contacts/deadlines and generate press releases
- Design print and video advertising for the church
- Manage advertising contracts and budgets
- Manage and monitor church image and address impacts related to social media, YouTube, etc. comments
- Understand principles of copywriting, graphic design, layout and publishing
- Create style guides and brand outlines for all departments to use
- Perform communications research and monitor the progress of communication strategies
- Use communication strategies to connect and enhance church membership and participation
- Ensure church publications are up to date and readily available at welcome tables and displays
- Liaison between nonprofits using building facilities
- Maintain records regarding altar flowers including ordering, collecting fees, & processing deposits
- Conduct project management skills, including time management, goal setting, multitasking & prioritization
- Create and manage pre- and post- event communications for evaluation purposes
- Monitor CRM system regarding Mailchimp, social media, & website for audience reception
- Work independently to draft, design, edit and proofread content for assigned projects
- Maintain a weekly work calendar, social media calendar, and an events calendar for promotion purposes
- Other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
