Job Summary
Five Star Energy Services is seeking a driven, adaptable Communications & Training Specialist to support the company’s internal and external communications efforts alongside a supporting role in Learning & Development. This is primarily a communications role suited for someone who can create compelling content, coordinate across departments, and help keep a growing organization aligned and informed.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and content creator who thrives in a fast-moving environment, works well across departments, and brings a genuine interest in how people learn and grow. This position works closely with Executive, HR, IT, Learning & Development, Operations, Project Management, and Safety teams.
Key Responsibilities
Internal & Organizational Communications
- Support internal communication efforts related to operational updates, leadership messaging, organizational initiatives, and cross-functional change.
- Develop and maintain communication standards, templates, and SOPs to ensure messaging consistency across departments.
- Coordinate communication planning for employee-facing initiatives, working with department leaders to clarify objectives, audiences, and timelines.
Learning & Development Support
- Coordinate training schedules, calendars, and enrollment tracking across departments and field operations.
- Help Develop training materials including PowerPoint presentations, job aids, and reference guides aligned with L&D standards.
- Track and maintain training completion records in relevant systems (LMS, SharePoint, or equivalent).
- Support communication and logistics for training programs, including scheduling, setup, materials prep, and post-training follow-up.
Workforce Storytelling & Recruitment Support
- Create written, visual, and multimedia content that highlights field operations, employee contributions, and company culture to support engagement, recruiting, and retention.
- Support recruiting and workforce marketing efforts through social media and promotional communications.
External Communications & Marketing Support
- Manage company social media presence and support external communications aligned with brand standards.
- Assist with public relations, website content updates, marketing materials, and promotional assets.
- Support planning and preparation for trade shows, recruiting events, conferences, and community engagement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, Education, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in communications, internal communications, marketing communications, or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
- Experience developing content across multiple formats: email, social media, presentations, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Organized and able to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools including Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) and tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Experience developing training materials or supporting training coordination is a plus.
- Self-starter, collaborative, solution-oriented, and genuinely invested in the growth and development of others.
