Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Communications Assistant or Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and writing skills, with a passion for storytelling and a keen understanding of design. This role involves writing print content, writing web content, managing social media platforms, and supporting marketing initiatives to enhance our association’s brand visibility and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Manage websites, communications calendar, and social media accounts, creating engaging content that resonates with our membership and other professional audiences.
- Conduct member and community research to support communications, providing insights that inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with graphic designer, Program Coordinators, and Managers to create cohesive messaging across all platforms.
- Proofread and edit internal and external communications for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to brand standards.
- Assist with content creation by preparing materials and supporting presentations as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in writing, editing, and proofreading communications materials.
- Strong understanding of media relations and public relations strategies.
- Familiarity with social media management tools and best practices for engagement.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
