Purpose

As a Communications Consultant , you’ll be part of the CEEW’s publications team, ensuring that our research is published as per our SOPs with clarity, creativity, and professionalism. From policy reports and handbooks to visually rich brochures and coffee table books, you’ll oversee every detail of our publishing process while introducing fresh, contemporary ideas into our communications portfolio in line with our style guide.

We are looking for a process-forward, detail-oriented creative professional to join the Outreach team—someone who has experience in and a proven track record of delivering results in the publishing, design and storytelling spaces. Someone with time and project management skills and a curious and creative mind with exceptional editorial skills, design sensibilities, and a keen eye for detail. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for publishing, storytelling, and the opportunity to amplify climate action through visually and emotionally engaging content.

This position also gives you room to lead or support other communication projects such as films, anthems, or visual storytelling campaigns, blending creativity and purpose to connect with diverse audiences. In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined below, the individual should be prepared to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

Publishing : (75%)

● Master CEEW’s publication and design workflows and oversee all stages of research publication production per existing SOPs.

● Own all milestones of the publishing and design process—from timelines to quality checks to delivering and dissemination.

● Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors (designers, editors, printers, and data visualisers) to produce polished, visually engaging publications.

● Conceptualise and collaborate on infographics and visual assets that simplify complex data for print and social media audiences.

● Periodically refine and maintain the CEEW branding style guide, ensuring consistency and innovation across all materials.

● Maintain all institutional records and analytics pertaining to publishing

Creative projects (15%)

● Support or lead 1–2 special projects annually, such as the Annual Report, films, photography exhibitions, or pop-culture-driven campaigns to promote climate awareness.

Process and Innovation (10%)

● Manage and update publication archives, inventories, and databases while maintaining an impeccable record of archived materials.

● Stay ahead of contemporary communication trends, experimenting with new formats, platforms, and ideas.

● Provide logistical and creative support during CEEW events to ensure seamless execution of our outreach activities.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

● Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Communications, Publishing, Design, or related fields is preferred.

Work Experience & Skills

Experience: At least 4 years of experience in publishing, design production, corporate communications and activation, or related fields.

Publishing mastery and leadership to close projects: A proven track record of delivering high-quality publications with an innate design sense, from concept to delivery as well as innovative projects.

Creative aptitude: Strong skills in visual storytelling, layout design, and curating compelling communication materials.

Tech savvy: Proficiency/ understanding of design tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) or Canva; Use of AI, and knowledge of photography and video editing is a bonus.

Collaborative spirit: Good communication and project management skills, with an ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.

Detail-oriented: An eagle eye for detail and a commitment to delivering the highest standards in editorial and visual work.

Climate curious: A genuine interest in climate action and sustainability communications.
