Summary

The Communications & Digital Content Manager ensures the voice, clarity, and message of Element Church are communicated effectively across all platforms. This role manages church-wide communication systems, social media strategy, website updates, and digital content creation. Working under the direction of the Executive Creative Pastor, the Communications & Digital Content Manager supports communication clarity, produces social content, maintains brand consistency, and assists the Creative Department as needed. This position focuses on communication-first responsibilities with lightweight digital content creation that complements, not replaces, long-form film production.

Essential duties, Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Deliverables

Communication Strategy & Execution

  • Implement and manage the church-wide communication strategy established by the Executive Creative Pastor.
  • Maintain communication clarity by ensuring ministries receive timely updates, guidelines, and messaging expectations.
  • Manage communication calendars for weekly, monthly, and seasonal initiatives.
  • Oversee written communication across platforms, ensuring consistency in tone, clarity, and messaging.
  • Prepare and distribute internal communication materials to support church operations and events.

Social Media Leadership

  • Lead planning, scheduling, and posting of content across all Element Church social platforms.
  • Record simple short-form digital content (reels, talk-to-camera clips, stories) that reflects Element’s tone and brand.
  • Edit lightweight social videos using simple, fast-turnaround tools.
  • Monitor engagement analytics and update strategy to strengthen digital reach and audience connection.
  • Maintain a consistent social presence that supports weekend services, message series, ministries, and events.
  • Recruit and lead volunteers who assist with social media, photography, and digital engagement.

Website Management

  • Oversee updates to the Element Church website, ensuring accuracy and alignment with current campaigns and series.
  • Maintain clear navigation, updated content, and consistent messaging within the existing CMS.
  • Collaborate with the Art Director to ensure design alignment across all web-based materials.
  • Support ongoing improvements to web communication, clarity, and user experience.

Digital Content Creation =

  • Capture lightweight video and photography for social media, communication announcements, and ministry updates.
  • Produce short-form content that supports digital communication needs without crossing into cinematic film production.
  • Edit basic social content (clips, reels, recap moments) using simple editing tools such as CapCut, Premiere for light edits, or similar.
  • Support the Filmmaker by providing communication-focused digital content that complements, but does not replace, long-form studio or cinematic projects.
  • Assist with organization of media assets and preparation of materials needed by Creative Team members.

Brand Stewardship & Communication Content

  • Ensure all communication and digital content aligns with Element Church branding guidelines.
  • Write clear, concise copy for social posts, captions, emails, and communication materials.
  • Maintain accuracy and clarity across digital channels including social, website, and email.
  • Support message series, outreach efforts, and ministry campaigns by developing communication-driven content.

Team Collaboration & Departmental Support

  • Collaborate with the Executive Creative Pastor, Art Director, Filmmaker, and Creative Project Manager to support major campaigns and initiatives.
  • Participate in creative meetings and contribute to brainstorming, content planning, and problem solving.
  • Assist with departmental tasks and administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Creative Pastor.

Volunteer Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and develop volunteers who assist with social media, photography, and digital communication tasks.
  • Provide feedback, clear expectations, and support to help volunteers grow in skill and ownership.
  • Maintain volunteer schedules, workflows, and communication channels that reinforce healthy team culture.

Innovation & Growth

  • Stay informed about digital communication trends, social algorithms, and emerging best practices.
  • Evaluate and implement tools or workflows that enhance communication effectiveness and creative reach.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve online presence and strengthen Element’s communication clarity.

Qualifications / Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–4 years of experience in communications, social media management, or digital content creation.
  • Strong writing and communication skills with an ability to maintain clarity and brand voice.
  • Proficiency with social media tools, content scheduling platforms, and basic photo/video capture.
  • Ability to record simple digital content and edit short-form social videos.
  • Experience with website CMS platforms.
  • Ability to lead volunteers, work collaboratively, and communicate clearly across teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Commitment to excellence, integrity, and the mission of Element Church under the leadership of the Executive Creative Pastor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
