Communications Intern

Cocoa Asante is an emerging luxury chocolate brand rooted in culture, creativity, and high-quality craftsmanship.

We’ve been featured in CNN, The Wall Street Journal, AfroTech, and more, and have built a growing online community of over 200,000 across social platforms. Following a recent capital raise, we’re entering a major growth phase and looking for a Communications Intern to support storytelling, content, and brand communication as we continue scaling.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone interested in communications, storytelling, content creation, and modern brand building. You’ll work closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager on content development, creative brainstorming, social media communication, and day-to-day brand support.

Responsibilities:

• Support content creation for Instagram, TikTok, and other digital platforms
• Assist with brainstorming and developing content ideas aligned with the brand
• Help bring content ideas to life through filming, editing, coordination, or execution support
• Assist with caption writing and brand storytelling
• Engage thoughtfully with the online community through comments and DMs
• Help organize content calendars, drafts, and creative assets
• Stay informed on social trends, pop culture, and digital conversations
• Support additional communications and brand-related projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Strong written communication skills
• Interest in storytelling, communications, PR, or brand building
• Creative thinker who can contribute ideas, not just complete tasks
• Self-starter with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a collaborative and evolving environment
• Familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, Canva, CapCut, or similar tools preferred

Details:

• Hybrid role based in Chattanooga, TN
• Approximately 10–12 hours per week
• One in-person day per week plus weekly team meeting
• $12–$15/hour depending on experience

Juniors and seniors currently pursuing degrees in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or related fields are especially encouraged to apply.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
