SUMMARY
Together with the director of communications, help manage communications for St. David’s. Oversee planning, writing, designing, producing, editing, monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating of internal communications across all media. Serve as primary communications point of contact for program staff and internal events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned):
Gather information about parish activities and goals from church staff.
- Coordinate with staff on seasonal event planning and process.
- Ensure consistency in event messaging on all platforms.
- Provide insight on alignment with parish-level strategies.
- Receive and review emails to shared department email.
Promote church services, ministries, and events through:
- Periodic parish communications (bulletin wraps and e-newsletters)
- Oversee weekly e-newsletter content and production.
- Oversee weekly bulletin wrap content and production.
- Print, online, and electronic media
- Oversee weekly online worship production (pre-service slides, on-screen assets, livestream scheduling, etc.), and lead AV event review and preview meetings.
- Maintain stdave.org website and app content.
- Design, update, and distribute parish and campus communications.
- Create, curate, monitor, and schedule social media content.
- Communicate with vendors to update and order branded and ministry collateral.
- Attend communications and ministry meetings as well as some parish events on Sundays, Saturdays, and weeknights.
Maintain church media archive, including securing church event images, video, and permissions.
Prepare and distribute funeral and memorial announcements.
Collaborate with director of communications on:
- development of programmatic communications support plans.
- refreshing strategy, content, and implementation processes for annual and parish-wide communications campaigns.
- audio, video, and print production as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of graphic design, communications, and marketing experience
SKILLS and ABILITIES
Working knowledge of/proficiency in:
- AP Style
- Mass communication principles
- Project and content management
- The Episcopal Church
- Cloud-based computing and email (Microsoft Office, Google apps, etc.)
- Online conferencing (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
- Electronic newsletter production and distribution (Constant Contact, etc.)
- Website, UX design principles and maintenance (HTML, CMS, WordPress, etc.)
- Graphic design principles and print production (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Canva, etc.)
- Videography and livestreaming principles and video editing, production, distribution (Adobe Premiere, ProPresenter, YouTube, Vimeo, etc.)
- Photography principles and photo editing (DSLR camera, Adobe Lightroom, etc.)
- Podcasting and distribution (Castos, Apple Music, etc.)
- CRM databases (ShelbyNext, etc.)
- Social media principles and distribution (Facebook, Instagram, X, Bluesky, etc.)
- Electronic survey and analytics platforms (SurveyMonkey, Google Forms, Google Analytics, etc.)
