The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and writing high-quality content that drives action in target audiences, builds the reputation of the organization, and enhances the program experience. This position works closely with the CEO, Development team and Art Director to advance the evolving and growing needs of Voices Together. This role will ensure diverse audiences understand our mission and feel welcome to engage with our organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with the CEO, Development Team and Art Director to strategize the organization’s positioning and messaging.
- Develop tools and processes to ensure all communications remain consistent and accurately message Voices Together’s image.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns.
- Leverage research to develop inspiring content and compelling cases for support across recruiting, development, and reputation-building initiatives.
- Develop content to raise awareness, build the brand and increase engagement.
- Develop content for digital properties, including social media, website, blog posts, and email marketing.
- Collaborate with various internal teams to facilitate announcements, updates, and other communications.
- Distribute content across key channels, ensuring optimization for each platform and audience segment, including social media, website, email, and print.
- Support the clinical team by overseeing the copyediting process for curricula and program-delivery materials.
- Work closely with the clinical and development team to create materials that position Voices Together as an expert in the Music Therapy field.
- Oversee media relations, as needed.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Three to five (3 to 5) years’ experience in communications in a high-paced, highly collaborative, and goal-driven environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or related field
- Highly organized and able to creatively problem-solve
- Outstanding and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Proven skillset in developing communications strategies to drive organization relevance, differentiation, understanding and engagement
- Experience multi-tasking and managing multiple projects at once
- Ability to communicate effectively with management and across departments
- Excellent written, oral, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Prior experience in the non-profit setting
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds at times

Pay: $58,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
