Change.org is searching for a Communications Manager to lead operations in Turkey. You will report to our Associate Director of Communications. As a key member of our Communications Team, you’ll be responsible for identifying, supporting, and amplifying some of the most compelling and impactful citizen-driven campaigns for press, social media and email, across Turkey.

We’re a social impact business (a public benefit company), and the world's largest social change platform with 100 million users, 40,000+ campaigns launched on the site every month, and a 100% user-generated revenue model. Our users’ campaigns create impactful change once every hour, globally. We’re working for a world where no one is powerless, and where creating change is a part of everyday life.

Over the past decade in Turkey, Change.org has become a platform where people’s demands turn into real change. From banning horse-drawn carriages in the Istanbul Islands, to making Braille labels mandatory on medicine boxes, to amplifying environmental movements and free Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) tests, many movements have begun on Change.org. We are here for people to create the change they want so see on our platform.

Key Outcomes:

  • Consistently identify, support, and drive the biggest people power campaign moments, generating strong reach, and wide amplification across both social and traditional media, centering our amazing petition starters.
  • Increase awareness of Change.org and the campaigns on the platform among key audiences including media and decision-makers.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with key journalists, influencers, decision makers and partners to enhance both the immediate reach of campaigns and the long-term visibility of the platform.
  • Lead Corporate Communications in Turkey to implement the global strategy across owned and earned media. Collaborate with other functional leads to hone a global brand strategy, contributing to department strategy, goals and culture.
  • Contribute to growth in platform activity in Turkey. Engage Change.org’s email audience with timely, impactful, and high-performing content.
  • Maintain a campaign portfolio that is strongly aligned with brand principles and reflects ideological diversity, fostering trust and openness across a wide range of audiences.
  • Manage operational and legal needs in Turkey: Enforce local entity compliance with local regulations and global policies, manage the country budget, ensure correct budget and accounting execution.

The most important core competencies for the role are:

  • Extremely strong written and oral communication skills in Turkish and English, with experience writing press pitches, marketing emails and social content.
  • Existing connections with key journalists, influencers, civil society, officials, politicians, who could help tell the story of the people who come to Change.org to take action.
  • Strategic mindset, with innovative ideas around how to use digital campaigning to power local and national campaigns and amplify the voice of the petition starter.
  • Willingness to work across differences, including providing support to policy-compliant campaigns that you may not agree with, but that align with Change.org’s commitment to being an open platform to all voices.
  • Demonstrates strong autonomy by proactively identifying opportunities for improvement, taking ownership of tasks, and driving projects to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Uses insight, performance data, and AI tools to plan, pitch, and adapt for maximum impact. You are building systems and tools, such as testing frameworks or lightweight automations, that improve quality and efficiency across the team.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to recruit, build, and lead high-performing teams with clarity, inspiration, and care.

Target experience:

  • 12+ years of experience across one or more of the following: media, comms, brand, public relations
  • 3+ years of experience managing social media channels for a brand, company or organization
