Communications Specialist

The Communications Specialist develops and produces content for a variety of internal and external communication channels, including the AMERICAN News Center, social media, the employee communications app, newsletters, and companywide digital boards. The specialist also partners with departments across the organization to support communication campaigns related to key initiatives such as Wellness, safety, and recruitment, and contributes to broader efforts in employee communications, media relations, community relations, and marketing communications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Experience researching, planning, and executing internal and/or external communications programs, including writing and content development.
• Working knowledge of print and digital production processes, including design, layout, and content coordination.
• Proficiency with tools such as InDesign, Photoshop, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting communications for a manufacturing company or working with industrial clients (agency or freelance).
• Four or more years of experience planning, executing, and evaluating internal and/or external communications programs.
• Experience or training in photography/photojournalism and videography scripting.
