The Dane County Office of Criminal Justice has a full-time (1.0 FTE) project vacancy for a Community Court Case Manager position in Madison, WI.
NOTE: This is a project position, contingent on available funding, currently through 09/30/2027)

DEFINITION
Under general supervision, provides direct service case management to participants of the Dane County Community Court. This position assesses participant needs and eligibility and connects them with identified resources. This position also implements, monitors, and reports participant compliance with court objectives, as ordered by the Community Court Judge.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Complete screening and assessment to determine eligibility, risk, and needs of individuals referred to Community Court. Develop participant program agreements outlining objectives participants need to complete to resolve their criminal case(s). Monitor participant’s compliance with program agreements and conditions, as ordered by the Community Court Judge. Connect participants with community resources and conduct collateral contacts. Complete and submit progress and violation reports to the Court, District Attorney’s Office, and Defense Attorney in a timely manner. Attend all Community Court meetings, staffing, and hearings. Maintain accurate case notes in case management software. Communicate participant progress with justice stakeholders and official documents.
Education, Training and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a human services field (social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, counseling, etc.) and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time work experience in the pre-mentioned areas.
Special Requirements:
Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable personal transportation, or equivalent. Also refer to the “Physical and Environmental Work Requirements” section below.
Background Check Statement: Some positions may require a criminal background check which can include fingerprinting due to the nature of the job's responsibilities. Wisconsin's Fair Employment Law, s. 111.31 – 111.395, Wis. Stats., prohibits discrimination because of an arrest or conviction record. For Bilingual Positions:

Provide services in both English and the required foreign language (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, Hmong, etc.).

Applicants being considered for bilingual positions will be tested during the recruitment process prior to employment. This will primarily consist of passing an oral language proficiency assessment from English to foreign language and foreign language to English, but may require additional language testing, such as written translation, if it is an essential function of the job.

Physical and Environmental Work Requirements:

Experience working with individuals from multi-ethnic communities as well as from various socio-economic backgrounds. Knowledge of and ability to access community resources. Thorough knowledge of the criminal justice system. Thorough knowledge of mental health, alcohol and other drug abuse disorders. Ability to prioritize, calmly manage, and resolve urgent or crisis situations. Excellent verbal, interpersonal, writing, interviewing and organizational skills. Ability to quickly acquire and apply knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures relating to the target population. Knowledge of current human service philosophies and approaches such as self-determination, person-centered planning, community inclusion, and trauma-informed care. Knowledge of and experience applying case management methods, techniques and policies. Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external parties involved. Knowledge of computer-based applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other related software. Ability to use a computer to generate reports, complete forms, and document case activity. Ability to prepare and maintain complex records and reports. Ability to maintain an excellent standard of customer service driven by a compassionate, empathetic, and diplomatic approach.
