Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Community Day Program Manager to lead and oversee our community-based day programs designed for adults with developmental disabilities. In this role, you will coordinate daily operations, develop engaging activities, and foster meaningful relationships within the community. Your leadership will ensure that participants receive high-quality, person-centered services that promote independence, social inclusion, and overall well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact while managing a dedicated team and collaborating with families and community partners.
Work setting: In-person, Geneseo IL
Shift and schedule: Full-time, year-round; 8:00am - 3:30pm
Pay: $23.00/hour (negotiable, depending on experience)
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or Commensurate Experience in Developmental Disabilities Field
- Experience: 5 years of personal or professional experience working with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities (preferred)
- Skills: Management, Strong leadership, Basic computer/technology
- License/Certification: Driver's License (required)
- Background Check: Must pass background check prior to beginning work

Day Program Manager Job Description:
Planning:
- Daily/routine/seasonal activities
- Weekly lunch in community
- Weekly coffee shop visit
- Errands (groceries, supplies, post office, bank, etc.)
- Field trips
- Monthly “premium” field trip
- Annual visit with other programs
- Take & Bake meals
- Community interactions
- Lunch menu
- Annual ICC events: Yard Sale, Karaoke in the Park, Gift Wrapping
- Summer Program
- Extended Attendance Days
Direct Care:
- Personal care
- Feeding assistance
- Mobility assistance
Manage:
- Thirsty Thursday program & other Vocational opportunities
- Email/text communications (parents, reservations, activity inquiries, etc)
- Receipts (code for budget)
- Deposits/Tuition receipts (code for budget)
- Monthly report for Board Meeting
- Incident reports
- Arrange substitutes when needed
Annual Parent Conversations (E.D. will attend for support)
Drive mini-bus
Take photos of program activities
Report to Executive Director:
- Participant concerns that need additional discussion (behavior, health, medical, etc.)
- Parent communication re: issues that need additional discussion
- Time off requests
Other necessary duties to ensure smooth operation of Day Program
Physically capable of performing job-related, required tasks:
- Lift up to 50lbs
- Carry up to 30lbs
- Push/pull (assist adult using wheelchair)
- Assist with 2-person transfers to/from wheelchair, chair, toilet
- Assist adult using gait belt for walking (may need to brace/break a fall)
- Bending/squatting/reaching (secure wheelchairs on bus, restroom assistance, etc.)
- Walking in building and in community (up to 1 mile)
- Standing
- Driving participants in mini-bus
