Job Summary: Community Health Worker / Unlicensed Dental Assistant (Bilingual Spanish/English Preferred)

C.A.R.E. Clinic in Red Wing is seeking a compassionate and team-oriented Community Health Worker (CHW)/Unlicensed Dental Assistant to support both clinical dental care and patient navigation services. This unique role combines hands-on chairside assisting (with on-the-job training provided) and community health work to improve patient access, experience, and outcomes.

The CHW/Unlicensed Dental Assistant works closely with dental providers to assist during procedures, prepare treatment rooms, and support patient flow, while also helping patients navigate healthcare and social service systems. Responsibilities include welcoming patients, updating medical histories, assisting with dental procedures, providing oral health education, coordinating appointments and referrals, connecting patients to community resources, and addressing barriers such as transportation and language access.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys direct patient care, values community impact, and is passionate about helping individuals overcome barriers to achieve better health.

Qualifications:

• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Interest in dental assisting (training provided)
• Experience navigating healthcare or social services preferred
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office)
