Community Manager/Leasing Specialist- South Bay Area

We are seeking a highly organized, results-driven Community Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced property management professional with 2+ years of experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment, provides exceptional resident service, and has strong leasing and operational skills.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing daily property operations while maintaining high occupancy, resident satisfaction, and property standards. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Property Operations & Resident Relations

  • Manage day-to-day property operations and maintain an organized, professional leasing office.
  • Conduct daily property inspections to ensure cleanliness, curb appeal, safety, and high community standards.
  • Evaluate maintenance, groundskeeping, and housekeeping operations to ensure efficiency and quality service.
  • Investigate and resolve resident concerns, complaints, and lease violations promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with resident communications including notices, warnings, updates, and community correspondence.
  • Perform annual unit inspections with the Maintenance Technicians.

Leasing & Occupancy

  • Drive occupancy by marketing available units and attracting qualified prospective residents.
  • Advertise vacancies through online platforms including Craigslist, Zillow, Apartments.com, company websites, and other applicable channels.
  • Showcase apartment homes, explain community features and benefits, and secure lease agreements.
  • Process rental applications in compliance with company screening criteria and Fair Housing regulations.
  • Prepare lease agreements, collect security deposits, and secure first month’s rent.
  • Coordinate move-ins and move-outs, ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Know the local market and competitive communities, including pricing, occupancy trends, concessions, and amenities, in order to recommend strategies that keep the property competitive and maximize leasing success.

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Monitor resident accounts, balances, payment plans, and collections activity.
  • Send monthly notices regarding outstanding balances and resident credits.
  • Collect and deposit monthly rent payments into Yardi Voyager and designated bank accounts.
  • Submit completed leasing files, applications, and related paperwork to the Accounting Department by required deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit weekly activity reports every Friday to ownership, management, and department heads.
  • Participate in weekly check-in calls with the Regional Manager.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of property management or community management experience
  • Proven leasing experience with a strong ability to close leases and build occupancy
  • Excellent organization, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service and conflict resolution abilities
  • Experience with Appfolio or similar property management software preferred
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and leasing compliance preferred
  • Bilingual skills are a plus
