MENTAL HEALTH PARA-PROFESSIONAL

Apex Family Healthcare Services is an Outpatient Mental and Behavioral Healthcare Agency offering services and programs for Adults, Children and Adolescents located in Stockbridge, GA however; we extend our services to individuals throughout the Greater Metro Atlanta area through our mobile program. Our mission is to provide evidence based clinical practices to deliver high quality and comprehensive Behavior Health Services that promotes personal growth, development, accountability and positive self-awareness. We are CARF Accredited and accept all commercial insurances as well as most Medicaids.

Job Objective:

Applicant will provide recovery services focused on community based care for individuals with mental health diagnosis and co-occurring issues. The services utilizes a mobile interdisciplinary team to provide intensive, integrated and rehabilitative crisis, treatment and community support interventions/services

Job duties and responsibilities:

Required: The Mental Health Paraprofessional shall meet the definition of a Mental Health Paraprofessional as defined in the standards for Georgia Medicaid Providers in the State of Georgia. The mental health paraprofessional’s goal is to empower and support the individual to participate in mental health services. Their job description consist of, but is not limited to,

  • provide clinical interventions according to treatment plan
  • attend monthly supervision and staff meetings
  • make necessary referrals for individuals
  • assist with linking individuals to the community, i.e jobs, schools, library, etc.
  • provides timely documentation of services provided to individual
  • must have B.I.R.P note experience
  • must have experience working with Sharenote.
  • must provide a writing sample.
  • must have a bachelors degree and/or experience in this field.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player concepts.
  • Serves as part of the client’s treatment team.
  • Ensures client’s attendance to initial medication evaluation and subsequent medication appointments.
  • Maintain weekly contact with assigned individuals for the purpose of assessing personal issues, needs and resources according to the established recovery plan and clinical team recommendations.
  • Maintain weekly in-direct contact with consumers’ caregiver or family members for the purpose of assessing resources and needs i.e Housing, Social Support, Community Involvement, Financial Healthcare, Transportation, Education and Vocation
  • Job Qualification:
  • A bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology or a related field or the equivalent work experience in a human services field is preferred.
  • One year of experience preferable working in CORE, IFI, ACT, or SAIOP
  • CPR/First Aid certification*
  • CPI certification (Crisis Prevention Intervention)*
  • Essential Learning*

*These training/certification can be attained through the agency.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
