Community Mobility Program - EV Drivers

The EVC15 is a community‑powered, zero‑emissions transportation initiative led by The Niles Foundation. Our mission is to provide free, clean, and reliable EV rides that connect residents to groceries, schools, medical appointments, work opportunities, and essential community resources.

This program is built with and for the community. Reliability, respect, and consistency are not preferences; they are essential to delivering equitable, trustworthy service.

About the Role

Electric Vehicle Community Drivers are the face of our program. This role is more than driving; it is about showing up consistently, communicating clearly, and creating a safe, dignified, and welcoming experience for every rider.

This position is best suited for individuals who:

  • Take pride in being dependable and on time
  • Understand the impact of their presence on the community
  • Communicate proactively and transparently
  • Are motivated by service, accountability, and teamwork

Because the EVC15 is a neighborhood‑based service, we strongly value drivers who live in or near the communities we serve and are familiar with Los Angeles South Bay cities, Council District 15, including Watts, Harbor City, Harbor Gateway, Wilmington, San Pedro, and neighboring LA areas.

What You’ll Do

  • Safely operate electric vehicles (EVs) on designated community routes
  • Maintain consistent attendance and on‑time performance for scheduled shifts
  • Provide warm, respectful, and professional customer service to riders of all ages and backgrounds
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch and program staff regarding routes, status, or issues
  • Assist riders as needed while maintaining calm, professionalism, and dignity
  • Follow all safety, operational, and program protocols
  • Use mobile technology (tablets, apps, GPS, reporting tools) as part of daily operations
  • Represent The Niles Foundation and EVC15 with professionalism, care, and positivity

  • Enthusiastic, calm, and adaptable when plans or routes change
  • A transparent communicator who proactively shares concerns or scheduling issues
  • A team player who respects coworkers, riders, and supervisors
  • Motivated by community impact, responsibility, and service, not just a paycheck
  • Deep knowledge of the community service areas the community project serves

You must have:

  • A valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and clean driving record
  • Comfort using mobile technology (tablets, apps, GPS, basic reporting tools)

  • Familiarity with local neighborhoods, streets, and community destinations is highly valued

***Important Note:
