Community Services Manager

Responsibilities

  • Supports: Provide effective positive support and teaching strategies for people with Intellectual developmental disabilities who participate in Customized In Homes Support, Community Integrated Employment and/or Customized Community Supports. Provide personal care and monitor medications as needed.
  • Meetings and Training: Attend Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), ISP meetings, staff meetings and trainings as requested. May be assigned to agency team.
  • Health and Safety: Responds to and manages emergency situations appropriately. May include support outside of normal business for health and safety needs.
  • Training of Staff: Assist with the effective orientation training of new staff and substitute employees. Coordinates and schedules yearly and as needed individual specific trainings. Train Community Support Workers on agency documents and reporting guidelines.
  • Observation, Documentation and Implementation: Observe and report on individual dynamics, social/work-oriented roles and skills, behavioral interactions and other identified needs of individuals supported. Implement state standards for incident report consistently and accurately. May complete DVR process and billing.
  • Time Management: Structure daily schedule, ensure personal timelines are met for demands of the caseload in a timely manner. Complete required documentation appropriately. Complete other projects as assigned by the Community Services Department Manager.
  • HIPAA Compliance: Has limited access to Protected Health Information (PHI). Complies with HIPAA regulations and ARCA policies and procedures on confidentiality of information and records for persons served.
  • Personal Care: Generally, are responsible for light cleaning, cooking, running errands, as well as assisting clients with grooming and other personal hygiene tasks.
  • Vocational Goals: Ensures the success of individuals receiving services in attaining and maintaining vocational outcomes in Integrated Work/Community Settings.
  • Encouragement and Independence: Encourages and develops natural supports, friendships, relationships in community settings to ensure continued success by the person served. Must have the ability to encourage independence and fade supports.
  • Employer Support: Provides community employers and community settings with education and support related to disability awareness, while maintaining the confidentiality of the person served.
  • Individualized Plans: Participates with interdisciplinary team members in developing Person Centered plans to ensure individual Success. Will ensure all required documents are completed timely per Regulatory Standards.
  • Observation and Documentation: Evaluates and reports on the person’s performance and progress. Maintains accurate documentation and other related, required reports.
  • Communication: Creates and maintains positive relationships between individuals, families/guardians, nurses and IDT members. Establishing and fostering community relationships.
  • Professionalism: Maintains a professional relationship with employers, individuals receiving services and family members at all times.
  • Staff Coverage: Responsible to respond to maintain appropriate staff coverage for each individual assigned to caseload. Responsible for hiring, supervising and training for all individuals assigned to caseload. Follow and comply with all guidelines and standards. May include Holiday and weekends based on individual needs.
  • Customer Service Evaluations: Helps years conduct periodic evaluations of program, including satisfactions of individuals, families/guardians, employers and other interested parties.
  • Health and safety: Responsible for the individual’s health and safety in regards to the service. Support access to medical or behavioral health serves and assisting with medication delivery such as setting up or reminders.
  • Community Employment/Volunteer Opportunities: Develops and obtains community jobs for person served. Maintains relationships with employers and representatives to develop new opportunities for individuals served.
  • Meaningful Day: Provides support to implement the individual’s purposeful and meaningful work, self-empowerment, personalize relationship, social, educational and community inclusion activities.
  • Works with ARCA’s financial department on any financial issues to ensure financial security for all under Representative Payee service.

Requirements:

  • Driving: Must have a current valid NM Driver’s License, a good driving record and the use of an insured, enclosed vehicle.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field or a combination of related education and experience equal to four years.
  • Two years supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
  • Two years-experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.

Pay: From $27.40 per hour
