The Community Staff Nurse will support Health Visitors and School Nurses in delivering high-quality, needs-led care across community settings including homes, schools and clinics. The role involves assessing health needs, planning and delivering care, and evaluating outcomes for children and families.

The post holder will contribute to safeguarding, early intervention, and health promotion, working collaboratively with partners to address physical, emotional and social wellbeing. They will manage a delegated caseload, maintain accurate records, and support service delivery in line with local and national priorities, ensuring care is inclusive, evidence-based and responsive to need.

To work as part of the Public Health Nursing Service (0–5 and 5–19) delivering the Healthy Child Programme through a progressive universal model. The post holder will provide evidence-based nursing care, undertake health needs assessments, and deliver targeted interventions to improve the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families. The role focuses on reducing health inequalities, safeguarding children, and working in partnership with families, communities and multi-agency professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
