We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them in leading fulfilling lives. Your work will involve fostering independence, enhancing daily living skills, and promoting social engagement. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to the well-being of others and have experience in caregiving or related fields.

Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing direct support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily activities.
• Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Supporting individuals in developing life skills, including cooking, cleaning, and budgeting.
• Monitoring the health and well-being of clients, including patient monitoring and reporting any changes to appropriate staff.
• Facilitating social interactions and community involvement to promote social skills and independence.
• Collaborating with other professionals such as nurses, social workers, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive support for each individual.
• Maintaining a safe and supportive environment while adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.

Experience
Qualified candidates should possess:

• Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred.
• Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
• Skills in patient monitoring, first aid, and basic cooking are beneficial.
• A background in social work or nursing can enhance your ability to provide effective support.
• A compassionate demeanor paired with excellent communication skills is essential for building rapport with clients and their families.
