Responsibilities
- Perform technical analysis and studies related to Unconventional Resources completions and stimulation engineering assessments in KSA.
- Has the ability to work with the multidisciplinary team and the Simulation Service Providers, analyze well conditions and provide advice on well completions regarding a stimulation design that optimizes production with consideration for both cost and risk.
- Has the ability to review completion request to ensure clear objectives are provided and that the planned stimulation is designed to meet this objective.
- Has the ability to perform both field and real time remote job supervision.
- Has the ability to develop perforation, flow back, and stimulation best practices and standards in specific areas and formations.
- Has the ability to conduct root cause analysis for all frac job failures.
- Has the ability to prepare reports for stimulation operations conducted including design and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for stimulation and completions.
- The ability to read and interpret open hole logs, integrate geomechanics and other data into the design and interpret well test data is an asset.
Working Knowledge Of
- Cementing procedures
- Completion design; cased hole vs. open hole
- Completion systems and application to stimulation operations
- Perforating and fracturing fluids and proppants
- Hydraulic fracture treatment design and analysis
- Acidizing and alternative stimulation methods
- Well testing, mini-frac testing, stress testing
- Micro seismic and other fracturing diagnostics methods
- Safety procedures
Skills
- Advanced knowledge and application of completion and stimulation engineering principles.
- Good working knowledge of BHI products and services.
- Excellent client relations, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; a real team player.
Experience
- Minimum of 15 years well completions experience including a minimum of 5 years' experience in fracture stimulation, design, and execution.
- Experience in fracture stimulation of unconventional reservoirs is required.
- A work history that demonstrates initiative and innovative thinking.
- Prior consulting / secondment experience a plus.
Qualifications
- BS or greater in petroleum engineering or related field.
Software Skills
- Experience with fracture stimulation modeling software, e.g. Meyer, Stim Plan, Frac Pro, Gopher.
Duration: Full time permanent. 2-3 year expatriate assignment.
