The Compliance Analyst, Pharmacy Programs plays a critical role in the process of evaluating pharmacies for compliance with regulations and program requirements to support NABP’s mission to protect public health. They will develop, analyze, and review applicant materials for the pharmacy accreditation and inspection programs, including application, submission of other materials, eligibility determination, and inspection/survey results. Additionally, they will provide recommendations and report adverse findings to the Compliance Manager, Pharmacy Programs and participate in NABP staff and contractor training. They may perform onsite inspections and surveys for pharmacy program applicants as well.
Education/Experience:
- Pharmacy technician national certification or state pharmacist license required.
- 10+ years’ experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacist required.
- Sterile compounding experience required.
- Proficient knowledge of rules/regulations governing the practice of pharmacy required.
- Inspection and regulatory compliance in pharmacy or other related health care field experience preferred.
- Experience with developing and reviewing policies and procedures and quality related programs preferred.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and communicate issues and solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced organizational skills and ability to multi-task without direction.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, or similar office software.
- Ability to work in a team environment with both office and remote-based staff.
- Routine air and ground overnight travel required.
- Any combination of training, education and experience that is equivalent to the employment standards requirements listed above, and that provides the required knowledge and abilities, may be deemed acceptable for this position.
- Compliance Development
- Performs reviews, analyzes data, and reports findings from applicant materials, including, but not limited to: application, document submission, policies and procedures, inspection/survey findings, eligibility determination, applicant responses, and audits
- Performs quality control and quality assurance activities related to inspection and survey reports
- Responds to applicant inquiries and conducts intake calls
- Inspector/Surveyor
- Performs VPP inspections and Pharmacy Accreditation surveys
- Reviews application materials and performs pre-inspection/survey reviews in order to prepare for inspection/survey
- Comprehensively and concisely describes observations and gathers necessary information into inspection and survey reports
- Completes required reports and submits not less than 5 days from the completion of the inspection or survey
- Assists with training of contractors in the field and provides feedback
- Information Improvements
- Makes improvements, with Compliance Manager, Pharmacy Programs and Compliance Senior Manager, for resolution of compliance conflicts identified during review of applicant materials and other information gathered during the pharmacy accreditation or inspection process
- Routinely meets with Accreditation & Inspection team to review open program and applicant questions, review compliance issues, evaluate complex business models, and to monitor and track resolutions
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
