Compliance Editor (Bilingual)

Job Purpose

Compliance Editors are responsible for the analysis, metadata capturing and technical preparation of Media for all OSN Platforms.


Key Accountabilities

  • Technical compliance of all Media including TVC’s.
  • Editing Media into required versions as requested by programming teams.
  • Full editorial compliance for applicable Media (HBO, Talk Shows etc).
  • BCM data entry for all respective metadata and related Media info.
  • Multi version end credit capturing for Movies and Series.
  • Skip intro and recap marker capturing for OTT on Series.
  • Audio processing for Dolby where applicable.
  • Episodic image capturing for all platforms from source Media.
  • Technical rejection and compliance report generation for failed Media.
  • Deals with the Programming & Production on a regular basis, as well as external clients on occasion.
  • Ensure Media is available for downstream workflows like Subtitling and Image preparation.
  • To liaise with internal and external departments as and when required.
  • To provide above expectations response to internal/external customer requests.
  • Logical approach to problem-solving with the viewing experience fundamental to the decision.
  • Liaise with Media Traffic, Programming, Language services and EPG to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Ensure the highest broadcast standards are always maintained.
  • Provide Excellent Editing, Editorial and data capturing.
  • Ensuring High Level of Technical Quality is maintained on all content and report appropriately.
  • To report all anomalies in a timely manner as laid out as part of the Media Operations procedures.

Qualifications, experience, skills and competencies

Experience required:

  • Experience working in a busy professional Media or post-production environment with an understanding of scheduling deadlines.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with Adobe Premiere Pro CC, other non-linear editing systems and editing in HD formats.
  • Working knowledge of video formats and standards and clear understanding of audio formats and loudness standards.
  • Working with high value material and studio security requirements.
  • Metadata and image capturing.
  • BCM or similar CMS experience for data entry.


Education requirement:

  • Degree in television operations or related visual communication qualification.


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and Premier plugins.
  • Knowledge of various video delivery and mezzanine formats.
  • In-depth understanding of signal level measurement and adjustment using waveform monitors, vector scopes, PPM’s and other standard monitoring equipment.
  • Working Knowledge of Dolby Audio and Audio Loudness measurement.
  • Working with industry leading production workflows: RED, Arri Alexa & other RAW formats.
  • Genuine desire to succeed within a service-based department.
  • Enthusiastic approach to work on new challenges.
  • High level of spoken and written English & Arabic is advantageous (requirement for Arabic role).
  • In-depth knowledge of broadcast principles and postproduction processes.
  • A deep understanding of broadcast standards and formats, both tape and file based.
  • An understanding and awareness of 4K and Dolby Atmos.
  • Bring a positive attitude to work and a can-do mentality.
  • To adhere to instructions and guidance from department Director.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and team player.
  • Familiarize, mentor, guide and/or train staff that are seconded to the area.

  • Technically aware and up to date with current post-Production technology developments and equipment.
  • Comprehensive appreciation of end-to-end media production processes.
