Compliance Manager- Tannery

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Compliance Manager to oversee all compliance-related activities within our tannery operations, including Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) management, environmental compliance, and social compliance audits. The ideal candidate must possess strong knowledge of tannery processes, wastewater treatment systems, environmental regulations, and international audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor all compliance activities related to tannery operations, ensuring adherence to local environmental laws, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Oversee the effective operation, maintenance, and performance monitoring of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to ensure compliance with wastewater discharge standards.
  • Lead preparation, coordination, and successful execution of tannery compliance audits, environmental audits, customer audits, and certification assessments.
  • Maintain all compliance records, permits, licenses, legal documents, testing reports, and audit documentation in an organized and up-to-date manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections and compliance assessments of production areas, chemical storage facilities, ETP operations, and waste management practices.
  • Coordinate with laboratory personnel, ETP operators, and production teams to ensure timely corrective actions for any identified compliance gaps or non-conformities.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs to improve compliance performance and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare compliance reports, KPI analyses, regulatory submissions, and management presentations while ensuring continuous improvement and readiness for customer and regulatory audits.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of proven experience in tannery compliance management, tannery audits, and Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) operations.

Strong knowledge of tannery manufacturing processes, wastewater treatment systems, sludge management, and environmental regulations.

Experience handling customer audits, environmental audits, social compliance audits, and regulatory inspections.

Familiarity with international compliance standards and sustainability requirements applicable to the leather and tannery industry.

Excellent documentation, reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, compliance reporting, and data analysis.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience Required:

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in tannery compliance, ETP operations, environmental management, and audit handling.
