Position Title: Compliance Officer
Reports To: Executive Director

Position Summary
Metro East Community Care, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to oversee, manage, and strengthen the organization’s compliance program. This role ensures the agency maintains compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, payer requirements, and internal policies, while promoting a culture of ethical practice and accountability.
The Compliance Officer will collaborate with leadership and staff to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and establish best practices that align with Metro East’s mission of providing high-quality, community-based services.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including Medicaid/Medicare, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Department of Human Services (DHS), and other governing bodies.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update policies and procedures accordingly.
- Develop, implement, and update compliance policies, manuals, and training programs.
- Conduct audits of consumer records, billing, and staff documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Provide compliance training and corrective action support for staff.
- Conduct internal investigations of potential compliance issues and develop remediation strategies.
- Establish reporting systems for compliance concerns and ensure confidentiality and accountability.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and leadership team to align compliance initiatives with organizational goals.
- Represent the agency in compliance-related communications with auditors, regulators, and partners.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Social Work, Public Policy, Human Services, or related field.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, quality assurance, regulatory oversight, or related fields within healthcare, human services, or nonprofit sectors.
- Knowledge of Medicaid, DDD, DHS, HIPAA, and state licensing requirements.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and training facilitation abilities.
- Ability to build consensus and foster accountability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with EHR systems preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Standard office environment with occasional travel to program sites and external meetings.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer.
- Must maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
