SUMMARY: Assists in implementing the compliance management program for the Bank.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop a knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and issues

Stay abreast of all legislative and regulatory developments that might impact the Bank
-
Assist in researching regulatory issues utilizing legal and regulatory reference manuals, consulting Bank counsel, and contacting professional associations and organizations as appropriate
-
Assist in monitoring compliance with laws and regulations throughout the Bank
-
Assist in developing guidelines and checklists to be used in monitoring efforts
-
Assist in maintaining regulatory risk assessments for all product lines within the Bank
-
Review Bank forms, notices, brochures, and advertisements for compliance with laws and regulations
-
Assist in implementing procedures to comply with new regulations or changes to existing regulations
-
Help the Bank proactively meet the objectives and technical requirements of applicable laws and regulations
-
Promote a compliance culture throughout the Bank
-
Work with department managers to make improvements to systems in order to correct any compliance violations or compliance related operational deficiencies
-
Assist in reviewing new products to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
-
Special project assignments

Other duties as assigned

Ensure all actions performed are in compliance with government regulations and organizational policies and procedures.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE
-
Position normally requires a Bachelor's degree or the equivalent to provide basic familiarity with a variety of subjects such as: finance, economics, English, business law, marketing, statistics, etc

A minimum of two years banking experience

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures
-
Ability to conduct research projects with supervision/guidance
-
General knowledge of investigative, audit and research techniques and procedures
-
Strong analytical and organizational skills with a detail oriented approach
-
Self-starter with a willingness to learn
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Proficiency in Word and Excel
