About the Role
As a Compliance Officer & MLRO, you will ensure the firm operates within all regulatory and legal requirements. You will manage the compliance function, lead anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CFT) initiatives, and act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities. This is a hands-on role that combines governance, monitoring, and advisory responsibilities.
What You’ll Do:
Regulatory Oversight

Implement and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and manuals.

Monitor adherence to financial regulations and internal standards.

Advise leadership on regulatory obligations and upcoming changes.

Conduct internal audits and compliance risk assessments.

Support new products, services, and client onboarding processes.
AML / CFT Leadership (MLRO Responsibilities)

Lead the firm’s AML/CFT program and maintain compliance with relevant laws.

Oversee KYC/KYB, CDD/EDD, transaction monitoring, and reporting processes.

Manage sanctions screening, PEP, and adverse media checks.

Investigate and escalate suspicious activities to authorities.

Provide training on AML/CFT policies and procedures.
Training & Governance

Drive awareness of regulatory obligations across the firm.

Conduct regular compliance and AML/CFT training sessions.

Prepare periodic compliance reports for leadership review.
Monitoring & Reporting

Lead monitoring and testing programs to assess regulatory compliance.

Review client onboarding and transactions for potential issues.

Maintain risk registers and track remediation of gaps or breaches.
Regulatory Engagement

Serve as the key contact for regulators on compliance and AML/CFT matters.

Manage requests, inspections, and notifications regarding breaches or personnel changes.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s in Law, Finance, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).

5+ years in financial services compliance, preferably with AML/CFT experience.

Strong understanding of local and international regulations.

Professional certifications (CAMS, ICA, CRCMP, CISI) preferred.
