The Qatar Financial Centre Authority is the commercial arm of the Qatar Financial Centre, responsible for attracting international businesses, developing strategy, and supporting firms operating in Qatar’s financial ecosystem.
A Compliance Officer in QFCA operates in a highly regulated financial environment, ensuring that companies and internal operations follow Qatar’s financial laws, QFC regulations, and international standards.
Core Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure adherence to QFC laws, financial regulations, and international standards
Monitor updates from regulators and implement changes
AML / CFT Oversight
Manage Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CFT) programs
Investigate suspicious transactions and report to authorities
Risk Assessment & Monitoring
Identify compliance risks and conduct internal audits
Perform compliance gap analysis and recommend corrective actions
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare compliance reports for senior management and regulators
Maintain records of regulatory filings and internal policies
Policy Development
Develop and update compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures
Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with regulators, auditors, and internal departments
Typical Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in:
Finance, Law, Business, or Economics
3–5+ years experience in:
Compliance, risk, audit, or legal roles
Certifications (highly preferred):
CAMS (Anti-Money Laundering)
CFE, ICA, or similar
Strong knowledge of:
AML/CFT laws, financial regulations, and risk frameworks
